We have just returned from a wonderful 5 day Castelfidardo Trip, superbly organised by the talented – Peter Le Geyt – (UK Accordion Tours) a professional event organiser with his PLG Marketing Associates.
A large group, 56 of us (accordionists & friends) from all corners of the United Kingdom plus a group from the USA set off from T5 last Tuesday bound for Castelfidardo via Bologna and were then treated to 5 days packed with events, including visiting – accordion factories, reed & bellow manufacturers, the Castelfidardo Accordion Museum, numerous scenic tourist locations & wonderful restaurants. Plus a surprise visit to the beautiful historic town of ”Loreto Marche Comune’ for a spot of lunch and then joining the spectators for an hour or so to view the legendary Mille Miglia Road Race (Vintage sports cars) as it passed through the town………..Wow! ….. what a treat!
The group were a happy bunch indeed and gelled from the start to ensure a great social experience was enjoyed by all – with lots of singing, dancing and of course – accordion playing, often into the early hours of the morning.
The staff at the hotel, obviously love the music of an accordion and were pleased to stay up late into every night (3am) to enjoy with us the wonderful “Accordionistic Camaraderie”, nothing was ever too much trouble for the hotel staff in Castelfidardo.
The talented (always available tour organiser) Peter Le Geyt had also managed to negotiate free-loan accordions (piano & button) for us, from a variety of local generous & trusting accordion factories, which ensured that there were always plenty to squeeze around.
A great time was had by all, thanks to Peter Le Geyt – Peter you were brilliant, we all look forward to the next one!
